Hand embroidered Crazy Quilt.  Each block represents a different ballet.  Giselle, Swan Lake, La Fille Mal Gardee, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet and Cinderella.
 
Hand embroidered with cotton and silk thread. Hand beaded and Machine quilted and trapuntoed with silk thread.

Crazy About Gardens.

After making many crazy quilts by hand, I thought I would try and make a crazy quilt with the sewing  machine using free motion embroidery instead of the programmed stitches.
 
Cotton, rayon and polyester threads.
Machine quilted with silk thread.
 
Chosen for the Down Under Quilts Magazine 2008 Calendar.

Butterflies, frogs and insects created with free motion machine threadpainting. Tulips are machine appliquéd.
